The original scimitar was called a shamshir, (which meant "lion's tail") and had a deeply curved blade that was almost a half circle. Developed in Persia, this type of blade was effective for draw cuts, but other than that, of limited utility. This caused the blade to shift its shape into a more useful version, which we have chosen to copy.

This exact replica of an original antique weighs only 1 lb, 12 oz, and the blade features an extreme distal taper, enabling it to feel exceptionally lively. A full 5/8″ thick at the hilt, and tapers to a super thin 1/64″, 1″ from the tip. The blade is hand forged from tough 1080 high carbon steel and spring tempered and arrives fully sharpened.

Filling an under served niche in available swords today, the Agincourt hand-and-half sword from Windlass Steelcrafts Battlecry collection is a slender, light, quick weapon well-suited to facing armored or unarmored adversaries. This is an agile weapon whose length and weight make it highly effective on its own in either one or two-handed fighting. But it’s equally dangerous when paired with a buckler or even a larger shield. Combining versatility with utility, the dexterity and lightness of the Agincourt betrays a dangerous fighting blade of respected martial utility. With a 1065 high carbon steel blued patina, it’s well protected from the frequent rust spots and stains that occur so often from everyday practice and exposure to the elements. The battle-hardened finish had an extra wide tang and is tempering to a low 50's RC. This pre-sharpened blade has gone through rigorous testing.

French Model 1801 Cuirassier’s sword is a heavy cavalry saber with a straight blade, as the French favored the thrust over slashing or cutting. This replica weighs a little over 3 lbs, the substantial mass needed to accomplish a lance-type thrusting attack. The distally tapered blade is over 1/4” thick at the hilt and is double-fullered like the originals.

King Henry V Sword was designed to be a superb weapon - simple, practical, and of high quality. The enormous, thick pommel looks misleadingly heavy, but is actually hollow. The raised rims on either side were brazed onto an inner iron disc. The recesses in the pommel were gilded with gold and accentuated with painted red crosses at the time of the king's funeral.

Sword is an Oakeshott Type X with a Type I pommel and a Type VII crossguard. The long and wide fuller on this blade lightens the overall sword and make it possible to deliver fast and shearing cuts, capable of cutting through the mail and padding that were worn during the period. The long guard offers good protection from an opponent's shield or blade, while the classic wheel pommel brings the sword very nicely into balance.
