For many centuries, the Pilum was the preferred spear of the Roman Legionnaire. Primarily this was because of its extreme effectiveness. It was fashioned in two parts; a long iron shaft with an integral point, and a sturdy wood handle attached by a simple rivet. It was usually carried in pairs and thrown in coordinated volleys at close range in a tactical attempt to impede and/or break up charging infantry by either killing them outright, or striking their shields, creating a tangled steel and wood mess, that effectively made their shields worthless as defensive weapons.

The City Stick's glossy black shafts are made out of eleven layers of fiberglass which, in impact tests, proved to be unbreakable. They're all topped with a removable head that can be easily engraved or modified to suit your tastes. At the base is a thick rubber ferrule for excellent traction.
Available with either a solid stainless steel head or our new polished black linen Micarta version, which is substantially lighter than its steel counterpart.

The Shobu (iris leaf) Katana, a reproduction of blades made in preparation of the Mongol invasion, provides an geometry optimized for cutting power. Featuring a diamond cross-section that flares at the Shinogi, the edge has a wider cutting angle, thus reinforcing the edge. The blade has an elegant sweeping tip without a Yokote, accentuated by a Suguha (straight) Hamon.
