Cheness FF Kochou Katana |
The Kochou katana features a carbon steel blade, forged and hardened from two types of steel. The construction involves layering two kinds of steel, which are then forged and folded 6–7 times, giving the blade a damascus-like appearance. The sword is finished with a brass tsuba.
The double folding of the steel is not intended to strengthen the metal, but rather to achieve an attractive pattern. The hardness of the steel will be similar to that of the monosteel used.
The tsuka is fitted with two mekugi (retaining pins) and has a standard length.
This sword is an excellent display piece, making it a great gift or a collector’s item for those seeking unique pieces. The set includes a presentation box and a cotton sword bag.
