Modeled after knives from the Vietnam War Era, the blade is styled from the knife a MAC/SOG soldier would’ve carried but with modern design technology. At 13 3/4" overall, it’s just the right size for a day pack. It features a 8 3/4" 440A stainless steel blade with a distinct clip point design and a partially serrated edge for sawing needs. The impact resistant handle is constructed from impact resistant TPR (hard-injected molded rubber) for a firm grip. Known primarily for their innate abilities to smith metal and stone, Dwarves are proud and strong-willed, ready for battle at a moment's notice. Like many Dwarves, Gimli, son of Gloin, favours the axe as his primary weapon. Accompanying his father to the Council of Elrond at Rivendell, Gimli is chosen to represent the Dwarves in the Fellowship of the Ring. After the Fellowship becomes separated, Gimli fights valiantly alongside Legolas and Aragorn from the Battle of Helms Deep to the Black Gates of Mordor. With his unshakable determination for success, he proves to be a valuable aid to the Fellowship. In Moria, after a cave-troll destroys the tomb of his forefather, Balin, Gimli is able to retrieve the mighty two-handed Battle Axe that had once belonged to the Dwarf-lord. From that point on, Gimli uses this Battle Axe for all close combat. Prepared for as many different situations as possible, he carries the Battle Axe with him, along with his Walking Axe, Bearded Axe, and two throwing axes. The massive head of this Battle Axe could be swung in both directions, making it a good choice for rapid moving combat.

This officially licensed replica has been authentically "aged" and "battle worn" with a distressed, acid-etched finish to duplicate the original movie item as closely as possible. The 16 3/4" blade is crafted from 420J2 stainless steel, rather than the original prop’s carbon steel, in order to guarantee that the replica will last a lifetime with little maintenance. The cross guard and pommel are cast metal and the grip features an "aged" genuine leather wrap. This item includes a 10" x 14 1/2" wood wall display plaque with a silkscreen design.
