Over the years we have been constantly asked, “What about a hunting knife?” Well, finally I decided to do one. This knife was designed by my life long friend Brian B. He is one of the World’s premier big game hunters. That’s no exaggeration. He held the record for World’s largest lion for several years. He always used Commanders on his hunts but wanted a more “Specialized” blade for cleaning and skinning. He has used the CQC-16 Prototypes in Africa, Alaska, Montana and the Midwest on everything from Cape Buffalo to White Tailed Deer and it has performed as it should, every time. Now we bring this performance to you as the CQC-16 Emerson Hunting Folder.

While longer and wider than our regular Katana, the hand-carved Bo-Hi help maintain balance and maneuverability. The Bo-Hi and Shinogi-Ji are hand-burnished to a mirror polish, giving the blade a crisp geometry. The sword is fitted in Turbulent Wave themed Tsuba and Fuchi-Kashira with a pair of Koi Menuki. The Saya is finished in 11-layer natural lacquer taken to a stone finish. The 12" Tsuka is paneled with genuine ray-skin and wrapped in black cotton Ito.

Featuring a diamond cross-section that flares at the Shinogi, the edge has a wider cutting angle, thus reinforcing the edge. The blade has an elegant sweeping tip without a Yokote.
Hand-forged from 1060 spring-steel, the 28.5" blade is fitted in the classic Musashi theme with a pair of sun and moon Menuki. The 12.5" Tsuka is wrapped in black cotton Ito and the Saya is finished in a black gloss 11 layer natural lacquer.

The Dynasty Forge Bushi Cherry Blossom Katana features a blackened iron tsuba in a cherry blossom theme. The grip is wrapped in dark green silk cord over white ray skin. Includes a black lacquered wood saya and cotton sword bag.
The Bushi class combines a clay-tempered blade with a fine hybrid polish. This polish, while refined enough to reveal the Hada and Hamon, is also more resistant to scuffing and scratches.
