Although the leaf blade Hoplite Sword is most often associated with the ancient Greek warrior, the Kopis was widespread and much in use all across the Greek Isles and indeed other areas under their influence, even including their ofttimes enemy, Persia. This is due, no doubt, to the fact that it is a very effective weapon, being able to split bronze helms and wooden shields. Blade sizes varied from about 8" up to about 22" in length. We have chosen to replicate a mid-size blade that would have been carried alone or sometimes with a longer Hoplite Sword. The fullered blade is high carbon steel and has polished buffalo horn scales riveted to a full profile tang with steel spacers and tip. This version of the Lakonian short sword was copied from the book "The Spartan Army". The Spartan army was one of the toughest on record; they devoted themselves to being the best of the best. This is a potent weapon that would be superb in the brutality of ancient hand to hand combat. The leaf shaped blade is high carbon steel, grip is bronze.
Scabbard is wood covered in leather. A very effective close combat short sword. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

It features the solid Zero Tolerance feel, a slightly lighter weight, and the unique style of Grant and Gavin Hawk. The 0650ST is equipped with the new CrossFire Auto Lock for extreme lockdown security. Toss it on a table, snag it on a seatbelt, manhandle it on a duty belt—there’s no chance the blade will accidentally deploy. The CrossFire lock requires two motions to work. First slide the lock toward the knife’s spine then pull it down toward the butt. Only then will the blade deploy. The CrossFire was specifically designed to operate easily, even with gloves on.The Hawks chose a drop-point blade with partial serration in high-end 154CM stainless steel for toughness and easy resharpening. Non-reflective, matte-black Tungsten DLC coating offers additional performance. The 0650st’s scales are constructed of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum with textured G-10 inlays for reduced weight and a secure grip.

It features fully automatic blade deployment and, as such, is regulated by Federal laws. This knife is only sold through authorized dealers and cannot be shipped through the US Postal Service. To compliment its automatic operation, the 0610 also features the ZT Push Button Auto Lock. It operates with the push of a button and features a secondary slider lock that prevents the button from being accidentally depressed and deployed. Just move the secondary slider forward into a notch under the button and it’s completely secure. The Push Button Auto Lock was specifically designed to operate easily, even with gloves on. 154CM blade steel and machined, aircraft-aluminum handles make this partially serrated, folder sturdy and reliable.
