With his hand securely gripping the cross bars, a warrior could punch through mail armor. This Katar, copied from an example in a British museum, has a “flame” blade and a brass handle with an antiqued finish. This knife is an actual copy of a typical Bowie knife of the 1830s. The story of the Bowie began on a sandbar of the Mississippi River above Natchez, Mississippi on September 19, 1827. A brawl that eventually involved Col. James “Jim” Bowie, who, having been shot and stabbed, successfully defended himself killing Major Norris Wright and wounding Alfred Blanchard with what onlookers described as a “large butcher knife.” This and other tales of Bowie’s abilities with a knife led to the widespread popularity of what became known as the “Bowie” knife.

This is probably one of our most unique and dramatic knife design we have in store. This particular knife design was ordered by Sylvester Stallone himself for the movie Cobra released in 1986. Designed by Herman Scneider this knife was used extensively in the movie by the “Night Slasher” character.
The model you see below is an authentic and officially licensed replica made by Master Cutlery. Using one of the original Herman Schneider handmade knives for reference, Master Cutlery have been able to recreate this distinctive knife in exact detail right down to the deathskull medalion mounted on the blade.
