The Celt-Iberians of Roman times were justly famed for their weapons, such as the Falcata; one of the most devastating swords ever made! The inward curving blade delivered a tremendous blow and could split both shield and helmet. Considered to be of Greek, or possibly Etruscan origin, this sword spread into Southern Russia and also Spain. It was in Spanish hands that it was most feared by the Romans. The blade is made from high carbon steel. The handle is solid brass. Comes with brown leather scabbard.

Even in combat gloves, you can easily deploy the blade using the large, ambidextrous thumb stud or blade protrusion. The blade is S30V stainless steel with Tungsten DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. S30V offers extreme durability, while the black Tungsten DLC enhances hardness, and reduces friction drag. Textured, matte-black G-10 scales provide an extra-secure grip. Includes a quad mounting system for tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip carry.

The blade/tang joint (traditionally a weak point) is reinforced by a high tensile steel rod running along the full length of the handle. This also removes any flex in the handle traditionally associated with plastic training swords.
