Forged from pure 1095 high-carbon steel, this 29.5" blade is as resilient as it is beautiful. Hand-forged and clay-tempered, the Hamon is brought out through a meticulous traditional hand-polish on imported Japanese stones. This fine polish exposes the grain of the steel, very similar to Nashiji Hada (pear Hada). A hand-carved and burnished Bo-Hi keeps this large blade balanced and lively. The blade is fitted in our popular turbulent wave theme with a pair of dragon Menuki. The 11" Tsuka is wrapped in silk Ito. The Saya is finished in a durable black stone lacquer.

The Shobu (iris leaf) Katana, a reproduction of blades made in preparation of the Mongol invasion, provides an geometry optimized for cutting power. Featuring a diamond cross-section that flares at the Shinogi, the edge has a wider cutting angle, thus reinforcing the edge. The blade has an elegant sweeping tip without a Yokote, accentuated by a Suguha (straight) Hamon.
The 28.5" blade is hand-forged from 1095/1080/1060 tri-steel. The blade is differentially clay-tempered and hand-polished on imported Japanese stones, a process that is even more complex due to the diamond cross-section. The blade is fitted in an elegant Mokko cherry blossom Tsuba with matching Fuchi-Kashira. The 12.5" Tsuka is wrapped in black silk Ito over a pair of cherry blossom & bird Menuki. The Saya is finished in a deep black gloss 11 layer natural lacquer.

Meticulously extracted from iron sand, the 29" blade is hand-forged from Tamahagane. This steel has all the qualities and characteristics of traditional "noble steel", the true material of the Katana. Hand-forged and folded 8-12 times, the blade exhibits an organic and subtle Hada, most commonly in the Mokume and Ayasugi styles. The blade is clay-tempered and hand-polished on imported Japanese stones, giving the Hamon a white frosted appearance on a dark background. The blade is fitted in our popular turbulent wave theme with a pair of Kirin Menuki. The 11" Tsuka is wrapped in black silk Ito. The Saya is finished in a deep black lacquer.
