This full-tang tactical wakizashi is built to perform! The mirror-polished, high-carbon steel blade is full-tang and features a deep blood groove as well as the Honshu etch. The handle features non-slip, checkered PolyABS scales, brass dowel rod bolts and a paracord lanyard that can be untied for use as a lashing cord. The solid brass hand guard is drilled with lashing holes. The sword fits perfectly into the solid wood and polycarbonate scabbard, with matching paracord wrap, and a solid brass cord fitting. The Shinto Shinken Katana features a more traditional blade style than the other Performance Series models, specifically designed for a more frequent drawing practice, with a live sharp blade.
These live Iaito swords (Shinken) from Hanwei are made for the experienced Iaido practitioner who wishes to include light cutting (Tameshigiri) in his repertoire. The Shinken features optimized blade geometry, combining excellent balance with minimum weight for repetitive drawing, while retaining sufficient backbone for cutting light targets. The Shinto models have hand-forged high-carbon steel blades. Each blade is differentially hardened, to produce a distinctive hamon, and is grooved for balance and audible feedback in the cutting stroke.

The Shinto Elite (SH6004KGE) features a hand-forged T10 high-carbon steel katana blade featuring the geometry of the Performance Series. The blade is differentially hardened using the traditional claying method. The Shinto is mounted in black and the tsuka-ito is made of premium black Japanese cotton. The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with a black cotton sageo. A finely rendered dragon, detailed in gold, with true front-and-back detail, forms the black iron tsuba. The fittings are superbly antiqued adding to the aesthetics of the set. The Shinto is supplied with a protective cloth bag and traditional maintenance kit.

The Practical Pro Elite Katana has an extended tsuka and a thicker and longer (29") Performance Series blade with a finer polish when compared to others in the Practical series. The blade is forged in high-carbon steel and differentially hardened using the traditional claying method. The rayskin-covered tsuka is wrapped with cotton ito and is double-pegged for safety. The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with a black Japanese cotton sageo. The fittings (koshirae) are finished in antiqued black iron. The katana feature a round Kuruma tsuba, which represents the 'Wheel of Dharma', symbolizing the Buddhist concept of the Noble Eightfold Path.

The Hoso Kumiage Japanese Katana (KTN3) is specially handmade and forged from special high carbon Japanese steel making it an extremely sharp, strong and flexible blade with bo-hi (groove).
Blade is clay tempered(40/60 HRC) , water quenched(not oil) and hand polished.
The tsuka (handle) is covered in same' (ray skin) and the Tsuka Ito (handle wrap) is 100% Japanese silk. The Koshirae (menuki, habaki, fuchi, kashira) are handmade from 99% silver.
The Hoso Kumiage Japanese Katana can be completely disassembled for full maintenance.
