The Samburu Spear, is based on a design used by the Samburu tribe from Kenya's northern frontier. It is perhaps the most advanced spear of its type on the planet. With this extraordinary spear, warriors routinely dispatch marauding leopards, lions and even firearm toting bandits at unheard of distances.
The Samburu spear breaks down into three components. First is the spear head itself which measures 7" long by 2" wide and is permanently welded to a 3/8" thick by 23" long steel shaft. Second is the counter balancing butt spike also known as the shoe. This is used as an alternative point for practice throwing, preserving the actual spear blade itself for more serious work. Third is the black, hardwood handle with a double taper connecting the head and shoe.
Each Samburu spear comes unassembled for ease of transportation. All you have to do is fit the blade and butt spike tightly to the Penetration. Includes Secure-Ex sheath.

| Yari - Samurai Spear by Hanwei (SH2152) |

The Yari was an essential battlefield weapon of the Samurai and took great skill to use and maneuver due to its length and size. The yari by CAS/Hanwei is reminiscent of the ones of feudal Japan. The blade is a straight triangulated double-edged forged high-carbon steel with a deep fuller on the flat side of the blade. The tang of the yari is long to absorb the shock of a blow and the one-piece staff construction reinforces the durability of the spear. Our yari is modeled after the su-yari or straight-spear design. The shaft (ebu) of the yari is done in a deep black lacquer and has a flattened side at the bottom section for blade orientation. The fittings (koshirae) are of traditional design and make the yari aesthetically pleasing. The blade is constructed from hand-forged T10 high-carbon steel. The yari blade is carefully protected by a sheath (saya) and comes with maintenance kit for proper care. In both design and structure, the yari a great addition for those who train in sojutsu.

The Naginata, famed weapon of the Sohei, or warrior monks, of medieval Japan was fearsome in the hands of a skilled combatant and is today of great importance in the martial arts field. Our naginata (SH1020), while retaining its traditional qualities, has been revised to better meet the needs of the martial arts practitioner. Hand forged 1065 high-carbon steel and edge tempered, using a traditional claying method, the naginata blade is at least the equal of the originals. Mounted on a long tang to better absorb the shock of a blow, the blade has a strong distal taper for balance and quickness. The delicately engraved tsuba features a silver butterfly motif. The one-piece staff (ebu) is very strong, featuring a traditional tear-drop cross-section for easy recognition of blade orientation and a black non-slip finish for better control of the weapon. The naginata is supplied with a wooden saya, a protective cloth bag and a boxed maintenance kit.

The Spontoon was developed in the second half of the 17th century, more as an officer's signaling device than a weapon, although it undoubtedly saw its share of action in hand-to-hand fighting. Our Spontoon is an accurate replication of the British 1800 pattern, a regulation-issue piece carried by color sergeants as late as 1830. The head and tail-piece only are provided. Our ash poles (OX005) may be used to complete the assembly. Total head length is 27".
